Antiques
… are not only amazing to look at. They're also what put Hudson back on the map.
A couple of decades ago, a handful of intrepid urban pioneers moved their antiques
and collectibles businesses to what was then a nearly abandoned, yet miraculously
preserved Warren Street, sparking the restoration and revival of the town. Since then,
dozens of other premier retail focusing on the decorative arts have located here,
turning Warren Street into an eye-popping destination for designers, collectors, and
home owners the world over.

Auctions
Stair Galleries, incorporated in June 2001, moved in 2006
to its current Hudson location, where the company has reaffirmed itself as a
full-service auction house equipped to handle sales of everything from single
items to entire estates, such as the ones belonging to Fred Hughes, Andy Warhol's
business manager, and the Elizabeth Arden Corporate collection.

Bed & Breakfasts
Taking advantage of its bounty of spacious, architecturally distinguished homes,
the city of Hudson now offers elegant lodging located on some of it most attractive and
historic streets. Characteristic of the hip, modern bent of the town's enterprising
entrepreneurs, these are not your mom’s b&bs — but carefully restored, amenity-filled
refuges from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

of Hudson and its glorious natural surroundings than on the bicycle.

Books
Small-scale and independently owned, Hudson’s two bookstores— one (Hudson City)
devoted to first edition, collectible, used, and out- of- print tomes and the other
(Spotty Dog) selling a broad selection of new work— are more than just great places
to find what you’re looking for. They are beautifully restored, historic spaces that
invite you to stay a while— even (in the case of The Spotty Dog) to have a beer,
buy some art supplies, listen to live music, and just hang.

Clothing
From the stylishly used to the chicly new or casually aerobic, the eclectic offerings
of the town’s clothing stores (catering to both men and women) have made
it possible to visit with just a handful of cash and leave with something approaching
a season’s new wardrobe. Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, check out the
creatively innovative windows of Five and Diamond, slightly off the beaten path
on 5th Street and Columbia.

Coffee & Tea
It's possible now to walk the full length of Hudson, from the Amtrak Station on Front
Street to the top of Warren at Seventh, and be able to pick yourself up just about
every other block with some of the world’s finest caffeinated — or decaf — infusions.
Not only will you experience (and possibly even be educated in) the fine art of roasting,
but you’ll also be able to listen to live music, surf the net, and /or get around to
writing that novel of yours.
